Appendix II - Hexagram Rituals
The Hexagram
As the pentagram is the symbol of man or of the four elements surmounted by the fifth, Akasha, so the
Hexagram is the symbol of the universe, the double interlaced triangles, the Star of David. Again just
as the pentagram is referred to the elements, so the hexagram is referred to the seven planets, and to the
letters of the seven lettered name ARARITA. This divine name is made up of the initial letters of the
Hebrew sentence: 'One is his beginning. One is his individuality. His permutation is one.'
The method of attribution of the planets to the hexagram is seen simply by placing the hexagram on the
glyph of the Tree of Life, so that the path between Chesed and Geburah coincides with the base of the
inverted triangle, whilst the base of the upright triangle coincides with the path between Netzach and
Hod. The lower point then falls on Yesod and the upper point falls in Daat. Superimposed on the Tree
of Life it looks something like this:
